MEMBERS IF YOU ARE COMPETING AT THE PONY FINALS WITH A REGISTERED WELSH OR CROSSBRED,
PLEASE SEND ME YOUR AND YOUR PONY'S INFORMATION! SEE THE MESSAGE BELOW....

Hi Denise,
Do you have a list of registered ponies?  I ask because I will be going to the USEF Pony Finals.  As you probably know, the WPCSA is always there, along with the VPBA to give out awards to the highest scoring ponies with their respective registries.   Ruth Wilburn has a list of all the ponies entered and their USEF recorded breeding information.  The WPCSA uses this list to determine which ponies are Welsh.

I will be at the Pony Finals with press credentials because I photograph ponies for the WPCSA and the VPBA (I am on the Board of the VPBA and the MPB).   If you know of any ponies who have been registered with the Crossbred registry that will be at Pony Finals  I would be happy to get photos of them.  Just a thought.  Perhaps in the Future these ponies can be acknowledged in some way with a Trophy or some other kind of award by NJPBO (cooler, halter, etc)

Take care and hope to hear from you soon,
Kathryn

CAN YOU IDENTIFY THIS WELSH PONY MARE?

  HI,

I know this is a long shot but I am trying to find out info on a welsh mare I rescued few months ago at the New Holland auction, so I was told to contract the welsh breeders in NJ since NJ is where the mare came from. She just had a foal today so it would be great to know what she was bred to as well. I have attached a few pictures if you happen to recognize her please let me know, if it would greatly appreciated.

N.J. EQUINE ADVISORY NEWS
brought to you by Gayle Stinson

Greetings,

Our Outreach Subcommittee members suggested you might be interested in the NRCS Publication New Jersey Pasture Management Guide for Horse Owner. This publication is designed to present basic information about the special grazing system and forage needs of horses. A well-managed grazing system can offer good nutrition, as well as the most economical and safest care for horses. Simple, inexpensive, low-maintenance management techniques also can protect and preserve natural resources by reducing soil erosion and preventing pollution of surface and groundwater from animal waste that washes off pastures and corrals

New Jersey Pasture Management Guide for Horse Owner is currently linked from our website features section at http://www.nj.nrcs.usda.gov/features/. The document is only available as a 2.1 MB Adobe PDF document right now, but it will be available in html format by early June. We are also investigating the possibility of having a limited quantity printed.

I hope you will take a minute to review this 18-page publication, and share it with your colleagues and associates as you deem appropriate. The direct link to the New Jersey Pasture Management Guide for Horse Owner is http://www.nj.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/documents/Pasture2010.pdf . Your comments about this publication are welcome.

Hi again,  The attachment on this email from Lynn Mathews is in regard to the Self-Certified Animal Waste Management Plan and should be put on the Website for our members to use.  It is strongly recommended that all animal owners have a waste management plan in writing even though they do not meet the State reguirements and have it recorded with their County Agents.  Gayle
